Making disciples...seeking to reach the unchurched for Jesus Christ

We unite as a church on these foundation beliefs:

  -We believe the Bible to be the inspired , the only infallible authoritative Word of God
  -We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit
  -We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory
  -We believe the regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful men
  -We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enable to live the Godly life
  -We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost-those who are saved to the resurrection of life, and those who are lost to the resurrection of condemnation
  -We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ, and the evidence of that unity being shown by how we love one another

Vision
  -To supply the Northern part of Indiana with a church that seeks to make and mature disciples for the purpose of reaching the unchurched Christian and non-church pre-Christian for Jesus Christ. To provide this community with a church that is willing to set aside our differences with other churches for the furtherance of the Gospel.
Purpose
  -To an ever increasing level, bringing, renewing and discipling people into a personal relationship with the risen, living Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Action
  -To provide this community with a church that can have multiple worship styles combined with strong lay leadership, keeping our minds and hearts focused on the one true purpose: reaching the lost and discipling them to a deeper relationship with Christ.

• As Pastor of Mt. Hope Church I will be committed to preaching the uncompromising word of God.This will be accomplished by:
  -Ongoing education
  -Diligently studying God's word
  -Continually reading the works of great theologians
  -To improve my love and personal relationship with Jesus
  -Prayer and spiritual discipline

Children's Ministry

• Continue Kid's Church as a vitally important ministry
• Encourage activities outside of church
• Periodic recognition of the ministry of Kid's Church
• Prayer groups centered around the Kid's ministry

Youth

• Seminars and training sessions for leaders
• Continued events outside of church
• Continued support from the church

Mentoring Program

• Establish volunteer for people to "adopt" newcomers
• Assist them with areas that are unfamiliar: baptism, carry-ins, communion, etc.
• Refer to pastor when needed

Greeter

• Shake hands, smile, remember names
• Hand out bulletin and visitor packs

Lay Caring

• Home or hospital visitation
• Calling of people who have been away for a time
• Establish a card/note ministry
• Refer to pastor when needed

Worship

• To incorporate a worship style of both contemporary and traditional
• Purpose is to allow all people the experience of worship in song

Business Action

• Paving parking lot
• Discuss and plan future building needs
• Hire an architect to draw up plans for expansio
